Since the German Pressure Vessel Committee (DBA) made the use of rupture discs with bursting pressures of 190 or 250 bar mandatory in valves for pressurised gas cylinders in 1960, Peter Otto Wehberg, the founder of Wehberg Safety GmbH, has been successfully involved in the research and manufacture of bursting discs for pressurised gas cylinders and other branches of industry. He carried out important pioneering work, particularly in the testing and use of new materials for bursting discs.
